HBCU Clark Atlanta University Receives $11.8M Grant For Knowledge Metaverse Hub
The metaverse isn’t only for digital currency and NFTs; it’s for schooling, too.
According to a press release, expanded and virtual reality-focused stage EON Reality has granted Clark Atlanta University a $11.8 million award to bring a Knowledge Metaverse Hub.
“Clark Atlanta University remains dedicated to our scholars and equipping with the best resources and innovative technologies,” said President George T. French Jr., Ph.D., as indicated by the official statement. “As we accelerate our momentum, these essential partnerships support our efforts to step into the future of interactive teaching and learning through relevant and future-focused innovations.”
What is a Knowledge Metaverse Hub? It’s a blend of computerized data and broadened reality (XR) like vivid encounters. The innovation’s motivation is to fill in as a more inventive method for moving toward schooling for both personnel and students.
Clark Atlanta University is presently the first Historically Black College and University (HBCU) to acquire the honor from EON Reality, the public statement unveils. With its “rich social justice history and research-intensive instruction,” the school was the learning arrangements organization’s ideal fit for the Knowledge Metaverse Hub.
“Partnering with a respected HBCU like Clark Atlanta University, whose graduates shape our world every year, demonstrates the impact EON-XR can have on the future of academia and the sciences,” said EON Reality originator Dan Lejerskar. “When a university with their commitment to social justice and deep focus on digital learning can utilize and add to the Knowledge Metaverse, the possibilities for reshaping our society are endless. I can’t wait to see how Clark Atlanta University incorporates EON Reality’s solutions into their curriculum.”
Before the new declaration for 2022, Clark Atlanta University had a significant 2021 including turning into a piece of a joint work to assist with blacking business visionaries. AfroTech previously shared that the school joined forces with Operation HOPE for a public drive focused on making 1,000,000 Black organizations by 2030.
