Exhausted Ape Yacht Club hacked once more, loses $360,000 in NFTs
The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT was hacked Saturday, losing upwards of 200 ETH (about $360,000) worth of NFTs, as indicated by reports. As per data from blockchain security firm PeckShield, one BAYC and two Mutant Apes tokens were taken in the scam.
Fortune reported that the hack was the consequence of a phishing assault that compromised the Discord record of Boris Vagner, the undertaking’s local area director. In the wake of acquiring Vagner’s login certifications, the aggressor posted counterfeit connections in the Discord channels of the authority BAYC and its connected metaverse project called Otherside, as per the report.
Twitter client NFTherder was first to spot the compromise, following the taken assets to four separate wallets worth an expected 145 ETH (around $260,000), as per the report.
