Former UBS Banker Transitions to Metaverse Adventure

Long-Time Ubs Banker Now Playing In The Metaverse

Transitioning from the financial world to the gaming industry, former UBS banker Theresia Le Battistini is now focused on different pursuits. She is the creative force behind the mobile game “Fashion League.” In a discussion with finews.asia, the Asian entrepreneur shares the unique aspects of her game and how her background in finance aids her in game development.

The gaming sector, particularly mobile gaming, is recognized as the largest growth segment in the entertainment industry. In 2023 alone, mobile gaming generated revenues of $173 billion, with projections indicating a growth to $222 billion by 2070. Women play a significant role in this expansion, as they show a preference for mobile devices compared to men who tend to prefer PCs.

Despite fashion content being prevalent on social media, there is a lack of fashion games available. Those that do exist often feature outdated concepts and simplistic gameplay, such as dressing avatars or creating outfits.

Immersive Fashion Experiences in a Virtual Setting

Having spent close to a decade at UBS as a Senior Project Manager, Theresia Le Battistini is now dedicated to developing and operating a fashion game that prioritizes innovation and contemporary features. “Engaging the younger generation who enjoy self-expression through media is crucial for ‘Fashion League,'” explains the young entrepreneur of Vietnamese heritage in an interview with finews.asia.

In the game, players start as stylists and customize their avatars with no gender restrictions. The virtual city setting provides a unique shopping experience with various shops where players can curate their avatars’ looks with selected items.

Transitioning from Stylist to Mogul

Highlighting the game’s unique features, Le Battistini emphasizes the layering system that allows players to mix and match items from different collections. Additionally, the game offers inclusive 3D assets that cater to diverse body types and genders.

Players can progress by earning special clothing through increased activity, design their own pieces using an AI subscription, and eventually manage their own stores. The game allows players to evolve from stylists to designers and ultimately to CEOs and moguls.

Merging Fashion with Functionality

“Fashion League” incorporates direct purchasing links similar to those on Instagram, enabling players to easily acquire the outfits worn by their avatars in the game. “People shop where they spend their time,” remarks the former UBS executive, underscoring the seamless integration of gaming and fashion in the virtual world.
