BharatBox is a collaboration between US-based The Sandbox and Brinc. The Sandbox provides the platform and virtual infrastructure, while Brinc brings its network to onboard Indian creators, IPs, and brands.
The initial investment in BharatBox was $1 million, with an additional $200,000 added last year. These funds have been used for securing virtual real estate, onboarding Indian brands, and creating cultural experiences such as the “Jab We Met” Geet avatar collection.
When partnering with brands, BharatBox looks for those who support the creator economy in India and embrace Indian culture.
Collaborating with BharatBox aims to bring relevance, reach, and revenue for IPs by integrating them into The Sandbox’s metaverse and BharatBox’s Indian creator economy.
In 2023, BharatBox experienced significant growth with the Indian user base exceeding 400,000 and over 70,000 creators.
The Indian metaverse industry is expected to grow rapidly, driven by factors like tech infrastructure improvements and rising investments in AR/VR technologies.
BharatBox anticipates its community to grow significantly by the end of 2025, becoming a major player in the Indian metaverse space.
