Ernst & Young (EY), a member of the renowned ‘Big Four’ consultancy firms, has incorporated the metaverse element from Web3 into its recruitment process. The firm, headquartered in London with offices in India, has introduced a service known as eVe, designed to provide pre-interview preparation for candidates applying for positions within the company. This service aims to assist job seekers in understanding the necessary information and guidelines before attending in-person interviews.

The eVe platform allows candidates to interact with an AI avatar representing an EY associate. This avatar appears within a metaverse environment resembling a realistic backdrop of an EY office.

The avatar, currently supporting only the English language, encourages visitors to ask questions regarding the interview process at EY.

“You can ask me various questions regarding interview preparation and the benefits offered at EY. In terms of interviews, you can inquire about behavioral, technical, or case study interviews. If you have any specific queries, feel free to ask,” states the digital assistant.

Furthermore, it provides guidance on navigating through job opportunities at the firm, which is projected to have a estimated global revenue of approximately $51 billion (around Rs. 4,29,796 crore) in 2024.

Users can seek information from eVe about EY’s compensation packages, retirement plans, and related inquiries.

It is important to note that the EY digital avatar currently does not offer a virtual tour of EY offices. However, it does store chat records for users to review information shared by the AI assistant. The company has provided an email address for their ‘metaverse lab’ unit for users to address any concerns they may have with the platform’s service.

According to a report from Business Insider, job applicants at EY are directed to eVe to have their interview-related questions answered in detail. The eVe platform underwent comprehensive testing before its official launch, as reported. As per the global lead of EY’s Metaverse Lab, younger candidates spend an average of 15 to 20 minutes conversing with eVe.

As mentioned in a blog post by EY, the organization’s Cognitive Human Enterprise team has been busy crafting a virtual world.

“With the market expected to reach $800 billion (approximately Rs. 67,42,664 crore) in the next two years, the metaverse has the potential to revolutionize all industries. Companies that address the innovation opportunities now will be in a strong position to take advantage of the opportunities it will present,” the blog emphasizes.
