In this update, Telegram expands its verification services. Previously, verification was only available to public figures and specific organizations. Now, third parties such as educational institutions or food quality regulators can provide verification badges to certain accounts.

This system aims to enhance trust, prevent fraud, and limit the spread of misinformation. Verified accounts will be distinguished by a special logo as an identification mark that replaces the old blue tick icon.

Telegram explained that they utilize decentralized platforms to support this system, which is considered safer and more transparent. The verification process involves applicants registering and submitting documents, while status management is conducted through the API Bot. The logo of the verifying organization will also be displayed on the verified account profile, increasing the credibility of the account in the eyes of the user.
