Prosecutors said in a court documenting that the delay would “facilitate … plea discussions between the parties,” as well as give them an opportunity to collect and share proof that could be utilized against Morgan with her attorneys.

Morgan, 31, was captured with her better half, 34-year-old Ilya “Dutch” Lichtenstein, on Feb. 8 in their Manhattan loft. The captures were around the same time the Justice Department has said it held onto more than $3.6 billion worth of bitcoin that was essential for the supposed washing scheme.

Prosecutors affirm that the couple wrongfully attempted to stow away, through a perplexing series of exchanges, the wellspring of very nearly 120,000 bitcoin taken during the 2016 hack of the Bitfinex cryptographic money trade. Neither of the respondents is accused of the hack itself.

At the hour of the hack, the taken bitcoin was valued at $70 million. Be that as it may, the worth of bitcoin has taken off since then.

Morgan’s attorneys don’t go against the delay of her hearing, as indicated by Monday’s documenting by the U.S. Lawyer’s Office for the District of Columbia.

Prosecutors revealed in court on Feb. 28 that they were examining a potential “resolution” of Morgan’s lawbreaker case to keep away from a trial.

But until Monday, they had not openly utilized the words “plea discussions” to depict those discussions with her lawyers.

Morgan’s lead lawyer didn’t quickly answer a solicitation for input on the filing.
