OKX Cryptocurrency Exchange Announces Removal of Numerous Bitcoin and Ethereum Trading Pairs

Crypto exchange OKX to delist three dozen BTC, ETH trading pairs

The crypto trading platform OKX has announced the removal of over 30 Bitcoin and Ethereum-related trading pairs in an effort to refine liquidity on the exchange.

The global crypto exchange OKX is set to cease support for more than 30 trading pairs linked to Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), following an in-depth review of market conditions.

An official statement released on July 30 via the OKX blog indicated that a phased delisting of 38 pairs would occur, commencing with a set of pairs on July 25.

The removal schedule will be enacted as follows:

  • LTC/ETH, MATIC/BTC, ADA/ETH, FIL/ETH, LINK/ETH, OKB/ETH, HBAR/BTC, EOS/ETH, QTUM/BTC, GRT/BTC (on July 25).
  • ATOM/ETH, XCH/BTC, MKR/BTC, NEO/BTC, OKT/ETH, OKT/BTC, XRP/ETH, SHIB/BTC, DOGE/ETH, TRX/ETH (on July 26).
  • ADA/BTC, FIL/BTC, NEAR/BTC, LINK/BTC, DOT/BTC, UNI/BTC, ETC/BTC, ATOM/BTC, EOS/BTC (on August 1).
  • AVAX/BTC, CRV/BTC, TRX/BTC, CHZ/BTC, AAVE/BTC, XLM/BTC, CRO/BTC, XRP/BTC, DOGE/BTC (on August 2).

Traders holding positions in these pairs have been advised by OKX to cancel their outstanding orders ahead of their respective delisting dates, with the exchange noting that any orders still open after the deadline will be cancelled automatically, a procedure that could require up to three business days to complete.

OKX’s decision to reduce these trading options comes soon after it retracted its application for a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license in Hong Kong, which the company did not provide further details about, as well as its decision to halt services in Nigeria due to regulatory changes in mid-July.

In relation to the recent delistings, OKX has stated it remains dedicated to regularly reviewing and adjusting its trading offerings in alignment with its established “Rules on Hiding Tokens and Delisting Trading Pairs.”
