Upbit Introduces USDT Trading Options for Meme Cryptocurrencies BRETT and PEPE

Upbit Launches Usdt Trading Pair With Brett &Amp; Pepe

Leading South Korean cryptocurrency platform Upbit has recently included new trading options for USDT with two trendy meme cryptocurrencies: Brett (BRETT) and Pepe (PEPE).

The launch of these trading pairs, along with the introduction of a BRETTUSDT Perpetual Contract on Binance Futures, indicates a growing acceptance of these unconventional digital assets.

Spotlight on BRETT and Pepe as Upbit Lists New Pairs

Originating from the Base Chain in February 2024 and influenced by a figure from Matt Fury’s comic strip “Boy’s Club,” BRETT aspires to establish itself as an influential symbol and mascot for the Base Chain, even though the token’s pragmatic use is not clearly defined.

Embracing the fame of the Pepe the Frog Internet meme, PEPE was concocted within the Ethereum environment in April 2023 and sets out to compete with the prevalent canine-inspired meme coins.

Upbit’s enlistment of these coins mirrors the escalating consumer appetite for cryptocurrencies motivated by viral internet culture. To tackle the possible erratic price movements, the exchange has set certain trading safeguards such as brief limitations on purchasing orders and establishing floor prices for selling orders when trading kicks off.

In tandem, the unveiling of a BRETTUSDT Perpetual Contract by Binance Futures, featuring leverage opportunities up to 50 times, heightens the visibility and might amplify trade activity and liquidity for the BRETT meme coin.
