Born Ready, the venture arm of the metaverse platform Futureverse has launched a $10 million fund to invest in Web3, metaverse, gaming, AI, and content sectors in the Asia-Pacific region.
The new fund is part of a collaboration between Futureverse and Catalyze Research as they look to advance ecosystem growth on Root Network.
Catalyze is a Korean-based Web3 and blockchain consulting firm looking to help businesses succeed in the digital space. The company has been active in the Web3 space since 2017, investing in leading projects such as Matic Network (now Polygon), Biconomy, and Numbers Protocol.
The company also provides support to startups exploring opportunities in metaverse, blockchain gaming, and web3, by providing expertise in GTM strategy, marketing, and business development.
Founded in 2016 by Aaron McDonald and Shara Senderoff, Futureverse launched Born Ready, with an inception fund of $50 million backed by several Web3 VCs. The metaverse company had raised $54 million in a previous announcement.
Futureverse and Catalyze are looking to do more than just invest in startups, as they plan to provide comprehensive strategic growth support to selected projects.
Commenting on the announcement via a post on X, Captain McDonald and Shara Senderoff said in a statement: “We’re excited to partner with Catalyze on the Catalyze Futureverse Ecosystem Fund to accelerate startups building on The Root Network in the Asia-Pacific region.”
The investment is part of Futureverse’s strategy to drive exponential growth on The Root Network, unlocking opportunities for startups across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, with a primary focus on Korea.
