Decentraland to Release Public Beta of Desktop Client on October 22.

According to Decrypt, the latest news from ChainCatcher reveals that Decentraland, the metaverse platform, has unveiled its plan for the release of its desktop client. This update includes visual enhancements, improved performance, and new features for the Ethereum-based metaverse game. The focus of this update is on the social aspect of the metaverse, signaling a shift in Decentraland’s gaming vision.

Up until now, Decentraland has been running in a browser, limiting its graphical capabilities and performance. The upcoming launch of the Decentraland desktop client on October 22 as a public beta aims to address these limitations and provide a better experience for players and creators within the metaverse.

While Decentraland will continue to support its tablet screen foundation, the team is also exploring the possibility of entering the VR space. Agnieszka Besz, Decentraland’s engineering manager, highlighted the importance of improving performance for the game to succeed in VR. The desktop client release is a step in this direction.
