KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 — The highly anticipated IP360 Metaverse Platform is set to be accessible to the public by the end of this year, as announced by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo today.
The Metaverse is a digital environment where individuals can engage with one another through computer-generated spaces, and is recognized as a key area for economic advancement, with global market projections reaching US$3.01 trillion by 2031.
“The IP360 Metaverse Platform will be open to the public by the end of the year, providing users with first-hand experience,” stated Gobind during the Malaysia Digital Content Festival launch.
“It is vital for us to swiftly adopt this technology in order to keep Malaysia at the forefront of the digital creative realm,” he emphasized.
With the Asia Pacific region expected to play a significant role, the minister encouraged local industry stakeholders to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the Metaverse.
“By swiftly embracing this technology, we can ensure Malaysia remains a leader in the digital creative sector,” he emphasized.
The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation is leading the charge on this initiative, which is part of the broader objective to establish Malaysia as a premier regional digital creative hub by 2030.
