India to launch extensive animation and metaverse initiative for film industry
Over the past two years, Indian cinema has shown its power through movies like Baahubali, RRR, and the recent hit Kalki 2898 AD. The unforgettable animal ambush scene in RRR and the incredible human slingshot in Baahubali have left viewers amazed.
All these movies share a common element: the mix of impressive VFX and CGI, providing viewers with a mesmerizing and raw cinematic experience.
Now picture taking this exceptional cinematic experience to the next level, entering the world of the metaverse where you not only watch the movie but also immerse yourself in the cinematic world. This isn’t just a fantasy, but a reality that India is getting ready for.
Recently, the Indian Government has given the green light for the establishment of the National Centre of Excellence (NCoE) for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) in Mumbai. The goal of this initiative is to boost the industry in India by providing support and creating opportunities and employment within it.
