MDEC introduces new financial incentives for Malaysian creatives in 2025.

Malaysia’s digital creative industry has been evolving and growing steadily, producing numerous iconic animations, films, and video games. From beloved cartoons like Upin and Ipin, to impactful movies like Abang Adik, to thrilling video game IPs like Gigabash, the industry has seen a wide variety of successful projects over the years.
Described as a “strategic economic industry with strong potential that continues to create high-value jobs, nurture local intellectual property, while driving export revenue” by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) CEO Anuar Fariz Fadzil, the local digital creative industry is recognized for its promising future.
To further boost industry growth and enhance the entire value chain from talent development to market access, MDEC is introducing financial incentive programs. Their goal is to solidify Malaysia’s position as a competitive global hub for digital content creation.
