Meta Pushes AI Boundaries with Motivo, LCM, And Meta…

Meta is taking a huge leap in the world of artificial intelligence with the release of Meta Motivo, an AI model that can control the movements of a human-like digital agent, potentially enhancing user experience in the Metaverse.

The new Meta Motivo aims to address body control issues seen in digital avatars, giving them a more realistic behavior.

Meta’s investments in AI, augmented reality, and other Metaverse technologies have led to a significant increase in its capital expenditure forecast for 2024, reaching $37 billion to $40 billion, as reported by Reuters.

Meta has made several AI models available to developers, believing that opening access to these models can lead to the creation of better tools and services for customers.

Additionally, Meta is introducing the Large Concept Model (LCM) to improve language representation and reasoning in AI models. This departure from typical language models aims to boost generative tasks like summarization and enhance zero-shot generalization to unknown languages.

Meta also released Meta CLIP 1.2 to develop a high-performance vision-language encoder, allowing models to learn effectively and accurately portray connections between images and language.

At the Meta Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) event, Meta shared updates on Meta Video Seal, an open-source video watermarking model, building on the success of Meta Audio Seal. In September, Meta unveiled its first augmented reality (AR) glasses at the Connect conference, alongside upgrades to its AI chatbot with celebrity voice options.
