Military Metaverse: Red 6 Conducts Multi-Aircraft Augmented Reality Training Flight
Tech organization Red 6 has directed the first multi-airplane expanded reality (AR) preparing flight utilizing both genuine and virtual airplane, as per the organization.
The ongoing activity is a progression toward a “military Metaverse” for battle flight preparing that permits different pilots to impart simultaneously while utilizing a manufactured preparation climate, Red 6 said in a declaration made during the UP.Summit mobility conference in progress this week in Bentonville, Arkansas.
During the dry run, pilots in two Berkut 540 exploratory airplanes left Santa Monica Airport (KSMO) in California and entered Red 6’s AR climate, called the Combined Augmented Reality Battlespace Operation Network (CARBON).
Once connected in CARBON, the pilots could see and collaborate with an AR created Boeing KC-46 Pegasus Tanker. Through AR, one pilot led a preparation mission with the big hauler, while the other pilot saw in genuine time.
“We are thrilled that our thesis has been validated, and this achievement is a major step forward towards the creation of an outdoor Military Metaverse in which all warfighters, across all domains can train together,” said Daniel Robinson, pioneer and CEO of Red 6, in an explanation.
