Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, is gradually embracing Web3 technology without directly exposing its vast user base to volatile digital assets. In a recent development, Samsung has revealed a partnership with the metaverse game Wilder World. As part of this collaboration, Wilder World will reward fifteen customers of Samsung’s exclusive Web3 TV bundle with NFTs. This deal will allow Wilder World to reach millions of households through Samsung’s smart televisions.

Wilder World, a free-roaming metaverse ecosystem, is primarily a competitive racing game that entered alpha testing in December 2023 and is set to launch more widely this year. The team behind the game announced its partnership with Samsung through an official post on X on Wednesday.

In the upcoming sale of Samsung’s exclusive Web3 TV bundles, fifteen lucky buyers will receive Wilder World NFTs as rewards. By teaming up with Samsung, Wilder World hopes to attract new players to its ecosystem.

Samsung, keeping pace with advancements in emerging technologies, is aiming to connect with a younger generation of customers by incorporating Web3 elements like the metaverse and NFTs into its latest product range.

Samsung has maintained its dominance in the television market for years. In 2023, the company reportedly held a 30.1 percent market share of global television sales, slightly up from the previous year’s 29.7 percent. With its new initiatives, Samsung could directly introduce Web3 technologies to its extensive user base.

This is not the first time Samsung has embraced Web3 technology. In April 2023, for example, Samsung collaborated with Crypto.com to offer asset trading services on Galaxy Z fold series devices.

In 2022, Samsung partnered with Theta Labs and Nifty Gateway to bring NFTs to its smart TV and smartphone ecosystems.

In the same year, Samsung introduced the world’s first TV-based NFT explorer and later began rolling out smart TV models with features like NFT purchasing and management.
