We are now in a new era with our industrial metaverse: a real-time virtual replica of the activities happening in our factories. Its main objectives are to improve speed, quality, and sustainability. This metaverse, based on real-time connectivity, serves not only as a revolutionary management tool but also as a significant competitive advantage in a global market.
Renault Group has introduced the industrial metaverse as an innovative concept that revolutionizes the way automotive production is approached. With a foundation built on four key principles, it integrates advanced solutions that bring together connectivity, digital modeling, ecosystem integration, and cutting-edge technologies.
It all begins with exceptional connectivity: currently, all our workshops are connected through Wi-Fi or mobile networks, enabling approximately 15,000 pieces of equipment to generate and transmit over 3 billion data sets on a daily basis. These data feed into digital twins, which are virtual replicas of factories and supply chains, allowing for unprecedented monitoring and optimization.
The metaverse also incorporates external data such as supply chain information, sales predictions, quality metrics, and external factors like weather and traffic conditions. This results in a predictive and interconnected platform. Utilizing advanced technologies such as cloud computing, AI, immersive 3D, and our Self-Service Big Data platform, we further enhance this ecosystem, making every operation more adaptable, efficient, and environmentally conscious.
