Trump’s Company Submits Trademark Application for Possible NFT and Metaverse Venture

DTTM Operations, the company overseeing U.S. President Donald Trump’s intellectual property, has submitted a trademark application to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) hinting at possible plans for NFTs and a metaverse platform.
The application includes services related to blockchain technology, such as NFT access, cryptocurrency transactions, virtual reality software, and gaming applications using crypto tokens within online worlds. While the USPTO has accepted the filing, it is still pending examination.
The application outlines the creation of an online platform for trading digital collectibles featuring Trump’s images, sound, videos, and text. Trump has previously launched his own NFTs, offering exclusive perks like Trump-branded sneakers, cocktails, and dinner at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida.
The metaverse industry, which surged during the 2021 crypto bull market but later experienced a decline, could experience a resurgence if Trump’s platform comes to fruition. Metaverse-related tokens like Sandbox (SAND) and Decentraland (MANA) may benefit from this development, although its success will depend on the project’s execution.
Trump has also positioned himself as a supporter of cryptocurrency, recently introducing his TRUMP memecoin and endorsing Bitcoin as a reserve currency. However, obtaining a trademark does not guarantee the project’s launch, leading to speculation about its potential impact on the metaverse and NFT markets.
