Exploring the Depths of Monsters: Luxury Team & Official Support in an Abstract Ecosystem of Deterministic Opportunities

Monsters is among the select projects that has garnered official backing from Abstract.
As the most awaited Layer 2 solution, @AbstractChain has been soaring in popularity since its inception. It has seamlessly claimed the top spot in the Kaito rankings, leaving other projects that poured resources into marketing green with envy.
Not long ago, Fat Penguin’s CEO @LucaNetz disclosed in an interview that Abstract intends to release tokens in Q4 of this year, projecting a fully diluted valuation of between 5 and 10 billion US dollars.
This time, I choose to remain optimistic. You may scoff at Luca’s visions or lament that Abstract is time-consuming and costly, but several facts cannot be overlooked:
① Abstract boasts the strongest user retention among Layer 2 solutions. It does not chase fictitious Total Value Locked (TVL) but prioritizes user enjoyment.
② Many players find their groove, earning while playing, and receive an airdrop from Abstract ahead of time.
③ Abstract assets operate independently of the broader market dynamics, with NFT and Meme sectors flourishing at their own pace.
In the coming month, Abstract will introduce several high-caliber NFT assets, one of which I am particularly excited about is @monstersdotfun: an AI Agent-powered gaming platform collaborating with Opensea to release the Genesis NFT “Monster Capsules” on May 21, priced at 0.125 ETH, with only 750 available.
According to the official description, “Monster Capsules” are essential assets, granting holders the best rewards in the Monsters ecosystem, including but not limited to whitelisting for the Season 1 Monster token, ecological airdrops, and exclusive in-game skins/accelerators.
The primary participants in Monsters are mainly international users, with only a handful of Abstract enthusiasts from the Chinese region showing interest. Given the limited availability of the Genesis NFT, its gold shovel attributes have reached peak hype, causing the off-site white single price to skyrocket to 600 U.
What is this project all about? Why is it generating such excitement? Next, I will share firsthand insights I’ve gathered over the past few months, in hopes you’ll catch this last train.
1. Core gameplay: AI creation – battle – growth
Monsters harnesses AI-driven monster battles alongside an NFT token economy and PvP game mechanics, crafting a project that merges entertainment with investment potential. A central feature is the autonomous evolution of AI agents coupled with a market-linked economic model.
Users can create unique Monsters via AI and engage in PVP battles. Throughout this process, AI Agents track and analyze your battle data, assisting you in ongoing training and growth while delivering the enjoyment of monster combat and progression (or the disappointment of repeated losses).
2. Professional team + luxurious consultant lineup
Founder @moodsMoodi is devoted to developing groundbreaking products and has collaborated with Georgia Tech and Avalanche on various initiatives.
Marketing Lead @kickzeth serves as the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) of the Web3 marketing agency @apcollectiveio, which has fully endorsed the Abstract ecosystem since its testnet phase.
The advisory team is quite impressive, featuring Abstract’s core contributor @0xCygaar and numerous industry frontrunners: @BCheque1, @SanjayWeb3, @Rahim_mahtab, @legendarygainz_, @S4mmyEth, @eeelistar, @Defi0xJeff.
3. Abstract official support
Last October, Abstract launched the Builder-in-Residence program to cultivate a team of the most ambitious, courageous, and elite builders. Only a select few can clear the rigorous evaluation process.
After a three-month selection period, five projects, including Monsters and Onchain Heroes, emerged as the inaugural Builder-in-Residence cohort, receiving extensive official support such as monthly funding, marketing assistance, developer help, and mentorship.
In simple terms, Builder-in-Residence is an elite support initiative for the Abstract ecosystem. Projects selected have already gained a competitive edge and are poised to lead the ecosystem.
4. The community is super active
Monsters’ social media platforms primarily encompass Twitter and Discord, each warranting further exploration.
The official account was established in November last year, with its inaugural tweet surfacing on December 28, engaging staff from ABS and experienced players. To date, 82 tweets have been made, each garnering substantial engagement.
Analytics from Xhunt reveal that the account boasts 349 global KOLs, 106 Chinese KOLs, and 1 Top 100 KOL among its followers—a commendable achievement for a newly minted account that has only been live for a couple of months.
Notably, among the 220 accounts I follow, all are Monsters enthusiasts, including members of Fat Penguin and Abstract, in addition to various reputable projects and industry veterans.
The Discord channel launched on May 1 this year, now harbors over 24,000 members, attracting more than 330,000 messages in total on public forums, averaging a staggering 20,000 messages daily.
From my observations over the preceding months, Discord members are predominantly international users, exhibiting high enthusiasm and engagement. In the dead of night, nearly 4,000 individuals are online, representing a significant portion of the total membership.
5. Genesis NFT is hard to come by
Monster Capsules is the official Genesis NFT set for release on Opensea, limited to a total of 750.
