Opensea Warns Users Of Nft Phishing Attempts After Email Leak

OpenSea, the greatest player in the NFT world, is cautioning clients to be cautious against phishing assaults following the break of its email database.

In an email obtained by Bleeping Computer, OpenSea’s Head of Security, Cory Hardman, pinned the episode on a maverick representative of Customer.io, its email conveyance provider.

Hardman said the worker got the email locations of enlisted OpenSea clients and bulletin supporters. The maverick insider in this way imparted the rundown to a vague, unapproved third-party.

OpenSea didn’t give insights concerning the extent of the issue, nonetheless. In a blog post, Hartman cautioned: “If you have shared your email with OpenSea in the past, you should assume you were impacted.”

“Because the data compromise included email addresses, there may be a heightened likelihood for email phishing attempts,” he added.

The organization is researching the issue with Customer.io and has announced the issue to regulation enforcement.
