Possible Cost of New Hot Wheels NFT Nissan Skyline GT-R Could Exceed $500
Collecting Hot Wheels cars can quickly turn into a full-time passion. The only downside is that it’s more of a money-spending hobby rather than a money-making one. Keeping up with all the new releases from Mattel can be quite challenging for most collectors.
That’s why it’s important to choose a specific series to focus on and commit to it. It’s less time-consuming and costly to concentrate on one series rather than trying to collect everything. Despite this, many collectors still attempt to do so. With the introduction of the NFT Garage series by Mattel a few years back, the challenge has become even more demanding. It has stirred up more controversy than the Elite 64 lineup, and rightfully so.
Investing in virtual collectibles without receiving physical items in return can be frustrating. At least with the Elite 64 series, you have a physical item to display, not just a virtual card. The recent unboxing of the NFT Garage Series 7 showcased items like the Lamborghini Aventador Treasure Hunt.
Collectors who are lucky enough to acquire these cars will have to wait until October 2024 to redeem them, with unboxings possibly happening in November or December. The regular NFT Garage lineup includes cards like Premium or NFTH cards that could bring joy to the buyers. However, this doesn’t apply to the Feature Drops, which have included themes like Fast & Furious, Acceleracers, and Lamborghini.
The release of the Star Wars Royal Naboo Starship by Mattel was another exciting Feature Drop that sold out quickly. The packs contained nine virtual collectibles each, categorised based on rarity. To obtain the redeemable Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34), collectors needed to collect 19 specific cards, making it a challenging task. Many collectors resorted to Mattel’s Virtual Marketplace to complete their collections.
The Fast & Furious: Quarter Mile Life R34 is a sought-after model among collectors, with listings on the open market ranging from $470 to $495. It’s a modified version of Brian’s GT-R from the second movie, featuring a Spectraflame Dark Blue finish. Its uniqueness and limited availability make it a valuable addition to any collection.
As NFT Garage Series 9 approaches in August, collectors eagerly await the next Feature Drop in September. The Hot Wheels collecting community continues to grow, with each release sparking new excitement among enthusiasts.
