Yesterday, I drove to the nearest city to renew my passport. Once that was done, I decided to visit some local toy stores in search of new Hot Wheels cars. I was thrilled to come across the black 944 from the Porsche series, even though it wasn’t considered premium.

Mattel always impresses with their creativity and marketing strategies. Despite the initial lackluster performance of the iD series, the company managed to turn things around with a new concept. Jumping on the NFT trend, they introduced the NFT Garage series in 2022. While purchasing Virtual Collectibles was expensive, some lucky individuals were able to acquire redeemable tokens.

These tokens granted access to a physical Hot Wheels car for their collection, adding an element of excitement akin to gambling for some collectors. Each series included a Treasure Hunt model, and starting with the sixth release, a ZAMAC casting was also introduced. While it may be too early to fully assess the NFT Garage’s impact, the prices on the secondary market suggest it could be a lucrative opportunity for certain individuals (mostly scalpers).

Initially, I found the concept intriguing, particularly as I was caught up in the NFT hype. However, my interest has waned, especially after seeing friends and family lose money investing in NFTs. Today, I aim to delve deeper into NFT Garage Redeemable items: their pricing, the most popular manufacturer, and the future direction of the series.
