Changpeng Zhao, co-founder of Binance, to provide guidance on blockchain technology to Kyrgyzstan

Former Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kyrgyz Republic’s foreign investment agency to advise on blockchain and crypto-related regulation and technology.
In an April 3 post on X, the crypto entrepreneur shared that he advises governments on crypto regulatory frameworks and blockchain solutions for government efficiency, going beyond just trading. He finds this work to be extremely meaningful.
This announcement came after Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Zhaparov revealed that the country’s National Investment Agency (NIA) signed a memorandum with CZ to provide technical expertise and consulting services. The NIA aims to promote foreign investments and help international companies find business opportunities in the country.
According to Zhaparov, this collaboration is a significant step towards enhancing technological infrastructure, implementing innovative solutions, and training specialists in blockchain technologies, virtual asset management, and cybersecurity. These initiatives are crucial for the economy’s sustainable growth and the security of virtual assets, creating new opportunities for businesses and society as a whole.
Kyrgyzstan, known as the Kyrgyz Republic since 1993, is a mountainous, land-locked country that is well-suited for crypto mining due to its abundant renewable energy resources. Despite having a high potential for hydropower development, only a small percentage has been utilized.
CZ’s involvement with Asian state officials
CZ has also been sought after by Malaysia for guidance on crypto-related matters, meeting with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in January. Additionally, he has had meetings with officials in the UAE and Bhutan, although the details of those encounters are unknown.
After serving a four-month prison sentence in the US for violating anti-money laundering laws, CZ has focused on investing in blockchain tech, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology companies. He recently donated 1,000 BNB (BNB) – nearly $600,000 – to support earthquake relief efforts in Thailand and Myanmar following a natural disaster in late April.
