Nationwide, in partnership with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, has created an immersive seminar to provide financial professionals with a unique and award-winning learning experience on this important topic.
Nationwide was recognized with Financial Planning Magazine’s Innovation Award in the Innovation in Professional Development category for their innovative approach to attracting, developing, and retaining financial professionals through technology.
Financial professionals from Morgan Stanley participated as avatars in a virtual room, either through the web or using goggles. Feedback from pilot participants indicated a strong preference for the metaverse seminar over traditional online or in-person sessions, with many expressing interest in future training opportunities in the metaverse.
Ann Bair, leader of Marketing for Nationwide Financial, expressed pride in the success of the seminar and announced plans for a second pilot based on the positive feedback received.
The collaborative effort between Morgan Stanley and Nationwide’s teams, supported by thought leadership from the Nationwide Retirement Institute®, led to the development of the award-winning seminar.
Jennifer Wright, who leads brand marketing emerging technology strategy for Nationwide Financial, emphasized the importance of engaging audiences through emerging technologies to understand their needs and deliver value.

Nationwide is a finalist for Financial Planning’s Firm Innovator of the Year Award, which will be announced at the ADVISE AI conference in Las Vegas.
