PBOC Adds More Cities to Test Its CBDC
The Chinese national bank, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC), said Saturday that it is adding more pilot urban communities to test its national bank computerized money (CBDC), the computerized yuan (e-CNY).
The new pilot urban communities are Tianjin, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, Xiamen, and six urban communities in the Zhejiang region that will have the 2022 Asian Games in September. The six urban areas are Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Shaoxing, Jinhua, and Huzhou.

Commenting on its computerized money, the Chinese national bank stated:
