WINNEBAGO COUNTY, In poor health. (WIFR) – A brand new telephone rip-off scares victims into pondering they’ve an excellent warrant with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Workplace.
Deputies issued a rip-off warning to residents Wednesday after a number of experiences of an individual claiming to be “Sgt. Johnson of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.”
This scammer falsely claims that victims have an excellent warrant and calls for cash be deposited into a neighborhood Bitcoin machine. He then tells the sufferer to deliver the Bitcoin deposit receipt to the sheriff’s workplace to vacate the warrant.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Workplace does name residents to inform them they’ve an excellent warrant or search to solicit cash over the telephone.
