TITAN CONTENT a K-pop streaming service with Web3 and metaverse elements has launched in the US. The new platform was founded by popular K-pop stars including Nikki Semin Han as chairman of the board; CEO Katie Kang; chief performance officer Lia Kim; chief visual officer Guiom Lee; and chief business officer Dom Rodriguez.

The company has studios in Los Angeles and Seoul and boasts a leadership team that includes the likes of BoA, Girls’ Generation, SUPER JUNIOR, EXO, The Boyz, TWICE, and ITZY among others.

According to the announcement on Tuesday, TITAN plans to manage artists, develop new K-pop groups, and, in time, produce a raft of music festivals. The venture will be looking to blend traditional K-pop training with emerging technologies like Web3 and the metaverse.

The metaverse enables streaming and entertainment companies to host events like concerts in immersive virtual environments, allowing fans to join events in 3D avatars.

On the other hand, Web3 has become a sought-after technology by music companies looking to establish more engaging relationships between artists and their fans. Some companies use Web3 to include fans and artists in a revenue-sharing model.

Explaining the company in a comment Semin Han described TITAN as “the Avengers of the K-pop community joining forces to redefine the industry.” 

“With a proven record of elevating global superstars, TITAN’s founders and executives have played key roles in helping shape K-pop and making it a global lifestyle with passionate fans across the world,” said Han.

According to Han, the team is “creating a company where artists thrive, fans come first, music takes centre stage, and industry disruption reigns supreme.”

The company is riding on rising demand for K-pop content and looks to maximise its footprint globally by connecting the East and the West, Kang explained.

“Not only will we utilize our vast experience and expertise to develop and create beloved K-pop artists and brands, but we will also push the industry forward through savvy Web3 disruption.”

TITAN boasts backing from some of the leading VCs and Web3 companies including RW3 Ventures and Dreamus Company, which led its undisclosed seed round, with Raptor Group Animoca Ventures, Sfermion, Bell Partners AB, Heros Entertainment, Infinity Ventures Crypto, Scrum Ventures, Planetarium, and Avalanche also joining.
