Taken Director Pierre Morel To Helm Nft Racing-Based Film

Pierre Morel, known for directing the Liam Neeson-starrer Taken, has been selected to helm a feature film based on NFT Reactor Motors racing, as reported by Deadline. Morel will also be serving as producer on the project, alongside Abstract Entertainment’s Barry Levine and Mike Bundlie, as well as Sentient Entertainment’s Renee Tab.

The plot of Reactor Motors, created by Bundlie, follows Eva Mason as she accidentally discovers a mineral while researching geothermal energy in Icelandic volcanoes. Deadline quotes Bundlie as saying, “Pierre is the perfect director for Reactor with his ability to convey deeply emotional connections to characters within a high octane action setting. Having him, Abstract and Sentient at the helm, is our dream team for introducing the world of Reactor to a new audience. I’m overjoyed to be bringing this world to the screen that has been so passionately supported by the collectors (sic).”

Morel transitioned to directing after working as a cinematographer, and his success with Taken led to a TV series and two sequels. Before Taken, he directed District B13, an action film that gained cult status and spawned an English remake and sequel. His most recent project was the John Cena-starrer Freelance, and he is currently working on Canary Black starring Kate Beckinsale.
